The Kompan aftersales department provides on-site inspections, repairs, full refurbishments, and maintenance on any manufacturers’ equipment, even those who have ceased trading. We are looking to recruit a playground Inspection & Maintenance Engineer with experience of playgrounds maintenance and repair. We offer the opportunity to join a well-established, growing UK organization, focusing on delivering ongoing play inspection and maintenance to our ever-growing existing client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completion of operational inspections and risk assessments as specified in BS EN1176 using the Play Inspection Company APP or other software the company may choose to use.
  • Ensure such inspections provide all necessary information for repair quotations to be produced accurately including measurements, quantities, manufacturer details and photographs.
  • Ensure that inspections are always undertaken in the most efficient manner possible taking into consideration local conditions such as weather, traffic and local events/holidays.
  • Contact customers as and when required to advise your intended inspection date/time.
  • Maintain effective communication with the office.
  • Identify opportunities for larger repair and refurbishment works.
  • Carry out basic corrective repairs when required, providing you have appropriate tools and equipment available in your vehicle or obtainable nearby.
  • Carry out repairs to an exceptional standard as per the job spec provided to you.
  • Ensure any vehicle stock is replenished as required by requesting replacement items based on usage to avoid out of stock situations.
  • Provide a stock take of vehicle stock as and when requested.
  • Manage stock of our northern storage facility and stock updates as and when requested.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving the efficiency of your role.
  • Provide support/training where required to other members of staff.
  • Maintain all tools/equipment/PPE in good condition and request replacement items or repairs as required.
  • Wear company branded workwear at all times (branded workwear will be provided).
  • Clearly display ID badge.
  • Comply in full with the companies code of conduct at all times.
  • Maintain your vehicle in line with the company car policies.
  • Undertake additional training where required.
  • Always act safely and wear all appropriate PPE for the task set (PPE will be provided).

Experience

  • Experience of working within a construction, maintenance or service engineers’ environment with good customer service and communication skills.
  • A problem solver with practical skills including experience of woodworking, surface repair, painting and mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to work on own initiative to a high level of accuracy and to meet deadlines.
  • A self-motivated individual who continually keeps abreast of industry and safety requirement changes.
  • Basic IT skills – Use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to travel daily, so a full clean driving licence is required.
  • RPII Operational inspection Qualification (the company will consider training for the right candidate).
  • Due to the nature of our business an Enhanced DBS check will be required.
