Job Purpose
The opportunity comes as part of our growth plans, to develop more resource and support for the sales team and create efficiencies. The role supports the design, development and installation of innovative playground schemes by producing high-quality CAD drawings and technical documentation. The CAD Technician will play a key role in producing and pricing creative concepts that meet safety standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret client briefs, site surveys, and drawings to deliver creative, functional, and cost-effective 2D design solutions and quotations
- Collaborate with sales and wider design teams to ensure feasibility and compliance
- Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant safety standards (e.g., BS EN 1176/1177)
- Maintain drawing archives and CAD libraries to align with KOMPAN process standards
- Identify and resolve design errors and design efficiencies, collaborating with internal teams, through clear communication and handover
Skills & Experience
- Experience in AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D desirable) and/or Revit (desirable)
- Experience in landscape, architectural, or product design - preferably in playground or outdoor leisure sectors
- Understanding of levels and cut/fill desirable
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Knowledge of UK playground safety standards is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication, teamwork and collaborative abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

- You have a design related degree, e.g. product designer, graphic designer, interior design
- You are proficient in AutoCAD
- Ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial awareness and creativity
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset, always looking to improve efficiencies and positively influence KOMPAN through a collaborative approach
- You are a team player with an ambition to learn and develop new skills
- You are sociable, helpful role model for the design team with a can-do attitude and a positive outlook
