Manage, litigate, and champion client outcomes across dynamic civil claims.

Dedicated legal partners. Driver advocates. Zero-stress claims.

Komodo Law was founded to remove the stress and complexity of non-fault motor claims. We are a team of legal experts specialising in advocating for drivers, fighting to get the best outcome across uninsured losses, lost earnings, personal injury, credit hire, and repairs—all handled by a single, dedicated team. One point of contact, zero stress. Headquartered in Brighton, we hire fully remote talent across the country. Want to work where legal expertise meets modern, driver-first advocacy? You’re in the right place.

The role

Komodo Law is seeking an experienced Paralegal to manage an active civil litigation caseload across personal injury, credit hire and recoveries. Operating within an Alternative Business Structure (ABS), this role pairs dedicated mentorship with autonomy across small claims and fast-track files, offering clear pathways to take on greater responsibility as skills expand. Day-to-day work centers on high-quality client care, robust drafting, tactical negotiation, and upholding rigorous SRA compliance standards.

This role reports to the Practice Manager and sits within a team of 6. Our company HQ is based in Brighton, but we operate as a remote-first team, meaning this role can be performed 100% remotely from anywhere in the UK, with hybrid options available if local to Brighton.

What you'll do

  • Full-Cycle Case Ownership: Drive civil claims from initial instruction through to settlement or final hearing, adhering to internal quality and risk management standards.

  • Empathetic & Decisive Client Guidance: Deliver clear, timely, and supportive legal advice to claimants, identifying when to navigate sensitive matters independently and when to accelerate complex issues.

  • Precision Legal Drafting: Prepare pleadings, court forms, letters of claim, witness statements, and comprehensive settlement agreements with high attention to detail.

  • Tactical Negotiation & Advocacy: Under supervision negotiate robust settlement figures, assemble trial bundles, and instruct counsel to secure fair, driver-focused resolutions.

  • Tech-Driven Case Management: Maintain structured files on Proclaim, tracking key limitation dates, deadlines, and procedural steps in compliance with SRA standards.

  • Collaborative Knowledge Sharing: Contribute insights to team discussions, embrace continuous learning, and participate in ongoing professional development.

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

…these essentials to thrive in the role:

  • Civil Litigation Track Record: You have extensive experience handling personal injury, credit hire, and/or claimant recoveries, because sound familiarity with CPR, pre-action protocols, and OIC/MOJ portals enables confident case progression.

  • Track Competency (Small Claims & Fast Track): Practical experience navigating matters through early tracks, because grounding in core procedural rules ensures robust case preparation and smooth litigation.

  • Clear, Compelling Communication: The ability to articulate complex legal positions with warmth, composure, and tact across written advice, court correspondence, and sensitive claimant conversations.

  • Commercial Mindset & Risk Instinct: A keen awareness of balancing legal remedies with practical business objectives, spotting emerging risks early to protect client interests.

  • Meticulous Time & Priority Management: The discipline to balance deadlines, diary entries, and shifting court timetables across a diverse caseload without missing a beat.

Nice to have

  • Intermediate Track Exposure: Familiarity with higher-value procedural demands, which helps accelerate broader litigation progression.

  • Proclaim CMS Proficiency: Practical experience with Proclaim workflows, which helps hit the ground running with administrative tasks.

  • ABS Regulatory Awareness: Direct experience or insight into Alternative Business Structures, supporting swift alignment with modern firm governance.
