Brighton Full-Time On-site

Champion driver-first justice and run meaningful litigation across fast-track and small claims in a modern, supportive environment.

Dedicated legal partners. Driver advocates. Zero-stress claims.

Komodo Law was founded to remove the stress and complexity of non-fault motor claims. We are a team of legal experts specialising in advocating for drivers, fighting to get the best outcome across uninsured losses, lost earnings, personal injury, credit hire, and repairs—all handled by a single, dedicated team. One point of contact, zero stress. Headquartered in Brighton, we hire fully remote talent across the country. Want to work where legal expertise meets modern, driver-first advocacy? You’re in the right place.

The role

Komodo Law is seeking a motivated Senior Solicitor to take charge of an active caseload across personal injury, credit hire, and recoveries. Working with supportive supervision, this role leads cases across small claims and fast-track proceedings while building the foundation for higher-complexity work and future supervisory responsibilities. The focus centers on delivering compassionate, transparent client guidance, executing accurate legal drafting, and securing fair settlements.

This role reports to the Practice Manager and sits within a team of 6. Our company HQ is based in Brighton, but we operate as a remote-first team, meaning you can perform this role 100% remotely from anywhere in the UK.

What you'll do

  • End-to-End Caseload Stewardship: Direct files from initial instruction through to final conclusion, maintaining strict adherence to internal quality benchmarks and risk management protocols.

  • Empathetic Client Partnership: Deliver timely, accessible counsel to drivers during vulnerable moments, transforming complex legal terminology into clear, supportive guidance.

  • High-Impact Drafting & Court Preparation: Produce comprehensive pleadings, witness statements, letters of claim, and hearing bundles designed to build compelling legal arguments.

  • Strategic Settlement Advocacy: Champion driver recoveries through constructive, firm negotiations while briefing and collaborating with counsel when hearings arise.

  • Tech-Enabled Case Progression: Leverage systems to stay on top of critical deadlines, manage tasks cleanly, and safeguard SRA compliance across every file.

  • Collaborative Practice Growth: Share knowledge across the team, engage in ongoing professional development, and step into mentoring opportunities as the practice expands.

What we're looking for

We care more about how you think than what's on your CV. If you meet most of the essentials and are excited about the problem, apply.

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

…these essentials to thrive in the role:

  • SRA Qualification: Hold a current practising certificate in England and Wales with extensive personal injury, credit hire, or claimant recovery experience.

  • Procedural & Court Literacy: Bring a working command of the Civil Procedure Rules, pre-action protocols, and court processes

  • High-Volume Case Management: Brings proven organisational habits to balance fast-moving deadlines without missing critical details.

  • Empathetic & Calm Communication: Combines active listening with composed negotiation skills, de‑escalating difficult discussions and building trusted relationships.

  • Practical Commercial & Risk Awareness: Evaluates legal strategies through a pragmatic lens, identifying potential risks early and escalating them appropriately.

Nice to have

  • Intermediate Track Exposure: Broadens tactical litigation capacity and provides a springboard into more complex litigation.

  • Proclaim Proficiency: We use PRoclaim and experience will accelerate daily workflow management

  • Alternative Business Structure (ABS) Familiarity: Helps you understand the context on operating within an innovative, commercially aligned legal regulatory framework.

What to expect from the process

  • Screen: A 45-minute call with the Talent team. We'll cover the role, your background, and your questions.

  • First Interview: 60-minute video call with the Litigation Manager and People team to delve into the role, including role and team fit questions.

  • Final Interview: 60-minute interview with Head of Practice and Director of Insurance

We design this to be a two-way conversation. Come with questions — we want you to leave knowing whether this is the right move for you.

We also use AI tools to support our hiring process — not to make decisions, but to help us run a fairer, faster process.

What we offer

We've built a benefits package that invests in our people’s long-term personal and professional growth and wellbeing. Here’s a sample of what this includes:

  • Salary: Dependent on qualification and experience, benchmarked to market. We discuss compensation openly from the first conversation.

  • 30 days of holiday annually, plus bank holidays

  • Private healthcare for you and your family, including pre-existing conditions

  • Life insurance at 3x your salary

  • 13 weeks parental leave at full pay for new parents

  • Workplace nursery scheme with Gogeta, allowing you to pay fees pre-tax

  • Ride to work scheme

  • Workplace pension scheme to help you save for retirement

  • Flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle

  • £500 annual personal training allowance plus regular learning opportunities on a variety of topics

  • £40 monthly wellbeing to keep you healthy

  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program, covering you and immediate family members—offering crisis support, counselling, legal advice, menopause CBT, and more

  • Unlimited AI usage

Working here

You’ll do well here if you: Move through ambiguity without waiting for a perfect brief Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks Adapt quickly when priorities shift, and help others do the same Look for ways to improve how things work, not just how to complete them Use tools, data, and colleagues to make better decisions

This probably isn't the right fit if you: Prefer clearly defined processes and a stable, slow-moving environment Are most comfortable staying within the boundaries of your job description Find frequent context-switching draining rather than energising

Inclusion and flexibility

Komodo Law is committed to building a team where everyone can bring their full self to work. We follow a structured hiring process and train our interview teams to support fairness and reduce bias.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or age.

This role is advertised as full-time. We're open to discussing part-time, job-sharing, or other flexible arrangements for the right person.

If you need any adjustments during the process, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.
