The Role
As a Team Lead within KOMI's Content Services team, you will lead the review, acceptance, and delivery of viral video content across our client channels. You will be the editorial standard-bearer for your team - making sharp, informed decisions about what content meets the mark and ensuring your researchers develop the same instinct over time. You’ll have a genuine command of what each client needs: their audience, their tone, and what makes content land. That knowledge sits at the core of everything you do, from acceptance calls to team coaching to stakeholder conversations. Alongside your leadership and editorial responsibilities, you’ll contribute to content sourcing where needed and uphold the operational standards that keep the pipeline running cleanly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Content Discovery team, ensuring alignment with wider company objectives.
- Review and accept content submitted by your team, ensuring every piece meets quality standards and aligns with client needs before it progresses through the pipeline.
- Make clear editorial decisions and communicate specific, actionable feedback that sharpens your team's output over time.
- Hold and maintain a detailed, current understanding of each client's content requirements, preferences, and audience.
- Take ownership of the weekly content plan, ensuring volume, quality, and client alignment are consistently delivered.
- Chair and participate in weekly quality control sessions to set and reinforce standards across the team.
- Provide coaching, support, and structured feedback to team members to drive performance and development.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, one‑to‑ones, and performance reviews.
- Onboard new team members and maintain a productive, accountable team culture.
- Source video content across digital platforms and social media as required to support team output.
- Collaborate with Content Services to tailor content for diverse markets and clients.
- Stay consistently current with viral content trends to inform your editorial decisions.
- Ensure content is accurately logged and records are maintained in line with internal processes and GDPR requirements.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and contribute to data‑informed decisions on team performance and content strategy.
What We're Looking For
- You have an expert editorial eye - you know what makes video content work for a specific client and audience, not just what goes viral in general.
- You are confident leading a team: coaching, giving feedback, tracking performance, and holding people accountable in a fair and constructive way.
- You are results-driven and take ownership of both your team's output and your own.
- You communicate clearly and effectively, whether that’s with your team, senior stakeholders, or external creators.
- You have a strong, current understanding of social media platforms and content trends.
- You can interpret performance data and use it to make decisions about team direction and content strategy.
- You are calm under pressure, organised, and able to adapt quickly when priorities shift.
- You are a natural collaborator who actively supports the people around you.
- You have a problem‑solving mindset and take initiative rather than waiting to be directed.
