kolt recruitment are looking for a strip fitter for a busy accident repair centre in Southampton. This is a key role supporting the repair process, ensuring vehicles are safely and efficiently stripped and rebuilt to a high standard and within target times.
Key Responsibilities
- Strip vehicles ready for panel and paint work (remove bumpers, trims, lights, mirrors, interior parts as required)
- Refit and rebuild vehicles after repair and paint, ensuring correct alignment and fitment
- Complete pre-delivery checks and ensure all components are fully secure and functioning
- Identify damaged or missing parts and report to the workshop controller/estimator
- Carry out minor mechanical tasks related to strip and fit where required
- Maintain a clean and safe working area and follow health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as a strip fitter/trim technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
- Confident removing and refitting a wide range of vehicle parts without damage
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to rebuilds
- Ability to work to deadlines and maintain quality standards
- Full UK driving licence preferred
