kolt recruitment are looking for a parts manager for an accident repair centre in Hoddesdon. You will take full ownership of the parts department, ensuring the right parts are ordered, received, stored, and issued efficiently to keep the workshop moving and repairs on time. You will work closely with estimators, technicians, and suppliers to control cost, reduce delays, and maintain accurate stock.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end parts ordering for all repair jobs, ensuring correct parts at best cost.
- Liaise with estimators/technicians to confirm part numbers, availability, and delivery times.
- Goods in: check deliveries, match to invoices, book into system, and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain stock control, carry out regular stock takes, and keep stores organised and compliant.
- Return management: warranty claims, credits, and surplus/incorrect parts with suppliers.
- Monitor parts spend, identify savings, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Ensure all parts are correctly allocated to job cards and costs are accurate.
- Support the team by preventing delays through proactive planning and communication.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a parts manager or senior parts advisor (bodyshop/accident repair preferred).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle parts, ordering systems, and supplier processes.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail (invoices, credits, job allocation).
- Confident communicator with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills and experience using DMS/parts platforms (training can be provided on site systems).
- Full UK driving licence.
