Job summary
We’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded marketer to lead venue marketing at KOKO, driving ticket sales, audience growth, brand visibility and commercial opportunities across one of London’s most distinctive live music venues.
The Venue Marketing Manager will own marketing across three connected areas: external promoter shows, KOKO’s in-house programming and owned IP, and private events and venue hire. Working closely with Programming, Membership, Private Events, Brand Partnerships, Design and external promoters, you’ll develop and deliver campaigns that reach the right audiences and deliver against commercial targets.
This is a hands‑on role spanning strategy and execution - From campaign planning, positioning and creative through to CRM, social, paid media, partnerships and reporting. You’ll manage a high volume of show campaigns, build audiences for KOKO’s own events and brands, and support the Private Events team with B2B marketing and lead generation.
We’re looking for someone who combines creative instincts with commercial and analytical thinking. A strong copywriter and campaign manager who understands live music, knows how venues and promoters work together, and can move comfortably between ticket sales, audience data and B2B marketing.
Role & Responsibilities
You’ll own marketing across three distinct but connected areas of the business, working closely with the Head of Marketing and wider KOKO teams to deliver commercial and brand objectives.
Promoter & external show marketing
- Act as the day-to-day marketing point of contact for external promoters, agents and tour managers bringing shows into the venue.
- Build and execute marketing plans for each show to sell tickets, using the venue’s own channels; email (CRM/database), social, website, listings, on-site and out-of-home, within the scope agreed in promoter contracts.
- Manage a high-volume campaign calendar, prioritising and sequencing marketing support across a busy, fast-moving schedule.
- Set clear expectations with promoters on what the venue will and won’t deliver, maintaining KOKO’s brand and channel standards while remaining a helpful and responsive partner.
- Track and report on ticket sales, channel performance and campaign effectiveness for each show, feeding learnings back into future promoter conversations and campaign planning.
In-house shows & owned IP
- Lead marketing end-to-end for the venue’s in-house programmed shows and owned IP events, from campaign strategy and creative briefing through to on-sale, on-the-day activation and post-event reporting.
- Define positioning, messaging and audience strategy for each show or brand, working closely with Programming and relevant internal teams.
- Brief and manage designers, content creators and external agencies as required.
- Own the marketing budget for these shows, allocating spend across paid social, email, partnerships and other channels to deliver against ticket sales and audience growth targets.
- Build and grow owned-IP brands year on year, treating each as a standalone product with its own audience, tone and growth plan.
- Use CRM/database and social data to build and segment audiences, re-target lapsed attendees and increase direct booking and repeat attendance.
B2B marketing for private events & hire
- Own the marketing strategy for private events, corporate hire and brand partnerships, in collaboration with the Private Events team.
- Develop and maintain B2B collateral including sales decks, venue hire brochures, case studies, website and listings content in partnership with the Sales & Private Events team.
- Plan and oversee lead-generation activity, including targeted outreach, email marketing, LinkedIn and paid campaigns, trade press, directory listings and awards submissions.
- Track enquiry and conversion data with the sales team to refine positioning, targeting and channel performance.
Cross-business marketing & reporting
- Own the overall venue marketing calendar, ensuring activity across shows, owned IP and private events is prioritised effectively and key messages and campaigns are coordinated across KOKO channels.
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing to share performance insights, identify opportunities and inform wider marketing strategy and planning.
- Track and analyse key marketing, audience and commercial data, providing clear, actionable reporting to the Head of Marketing and relevant stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with The House of KOKO Marketing Manager and wider marketing team to share audiences, insights, content and opportunities across the KOKO business where relevant.
- Contribute to wider KOKO marketing initiatives and projects, supporting a joined‑up approach to the brand across venue, membership, cultural programming and commercial activity.
About you
- 5–8+ years' marketing experience gained in live music venues and/or events, ideally with direct experience of promoter and venue relationships.
- A genuine, credible interest in live music and London's venue and promoter landscape.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver successful, high-volume, fast‑turnaround campaigns without dropping quality or missing deadlines.
- End-to-end campaign experience: strategy, creative briefing, paid and organic social, email/CRM, budget management and reporting.
- Confidence working across both B2C (ticket‑buying audiences) and B2B (corporate & private hire clients) marketing.
- Strong stakeholder management skills - equally comfortable pushing back on a promoter, briefing a designer, or presenting internally.
- Confident working with relevant tools and platforms, including email/CRM, ticketing, social and basic design/content tools
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable working some evenings and weekends around show nights and events.
Please note that we can only consider applicants with the right to work in the UK
