Reports to: Membership Manager/ Membership Director

Working week: The role will require a combination of in-office work and onsite shifts to support with events, membership activations and member or potential lead engagement. The role will usually operate from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday but will include out of hours presence to support the execution of relevant events, attend cultural events with acquisition potential, and work closely with the guest relations team to deliver on the needs of business.

Job Summary: The Assistant Membership Manager plays a key supporting role in the development and execution of our membership offering. Working closely with the Membership Manager and Head of Membership, you will assist in driving membership growth, fostering engagement, and ensuring a seamless experience for our community. You will collaborate across multiple departments to support the delivery of a dynamic membership strategy, engage with members, and help shape the membership experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about building relationships and enhancing the member journey.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Support membership acquisition, retention, and engagement through proactive communication and assistance with membership queries.
  • Assist in the coordination of new member onboarding, ensuring members are well-informed about benefits, policies, and opportunities.
  • Maintain the membership database, handling enquiries and efficiently managing the membership waiting list.
  • Provide administrative support in tracking membership metrics, analysing data, and preparing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in planning and executing member events that foster community engagement.
  • Support the Membership Managers and wider department in developing initiatives to enhance member satisfaction and retention.
  • Handle membership-related issues with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
  • Conduct market research and assist in identifying opportunities for membership growth.
  • Attend relevant events to build relationships, network, and promote membership opportunities.
  • Help facilitate internal team training to ensure consistent knowledge of membership offerings and company culture.
  • Assist with membership renewals by ensuring timely communication of reminders and addressing any related concerns.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance membership operations and engagement strategies.
  • Engage in the local creative scene, attending events, parties, launches etc. to develop contacts, network, and build awareness about KOKO.
  • To attend KOKO events, liaise with guestlist attendees, help devise the guests experience, and fulfil an ambassador role of KOKO at these events with the intention to source strong leads for further business.

About you: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality, lifestyle, or membership-based environment. Passion for creating engaging member experiences and a strong understanding of customer service principles and integrity. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with members and internal teams. Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset. Actively seeking to establish trust and credibility, by ensuring excellent service.
