London’s iconic KOKO reopened in Spring 2022 after a three-year restoration and redevelopment, emerging as a state-of-the-art live music venue spanning 50,000 square feet. A favourite of Prince, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, and Madonna, KOKO now combines its legendary history with cutting-edge technology, including high-spec streaming capabilities, to deliver unrivalled experiences for live music fans.

Backstage, the House of KOKO offers a four-floor members’ club, granting access to a stunning roof terrace and conservatory, dome cocktail bar, penthouse and recording studio, piano room, library, hidden speakeasy, stage kitchen and secret vinyl rooms. Described by Vogue as “a totally unique experience”, by the BBC as “changing the face of music” and by the FT as “The arts space of the future”, KOKO sits at the forefront of culture, creativity, and world-class entertainment.

We’re looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help shape the next chapter of this venue where we blend entertainment and hospitality into a unique experience for members and guests. Whether your skills lie in front-of-house, club and hospitality innovation or with the commercial & operational support teams, you’ll be part of a dynamic, inclusive and ambitious team redefining live music, culture and experiences in London and beyond.

This role operates to support Theatre Door during club night, Fridays and Saturdays 21:00 – 03:00, and additional hours in line with event needs.

Job Summary

As a Door Host at KOKO Theatre, you will be part of the front-of-house team delivering an exceptional arrival experience for our guests at one of London’s most iconic live music and club venues. You will support the Head Host in managing guest flow, VIP access, bottle table and private areas, ensuring every guest feels welcomed, informed and looked after from the moment they arrive. You will work closely with the Operational teams, supporting commercial objectives by assisting with on-the-door upgrades and ensuring high-value bookings are managed smoothly. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role requiring confidence, professionalism and a strong guest-first approach.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Welcome all guests warmly and professionally, setting the tone for their experience at KOKO Theatre
  • Support the Head Host in managing guest flow, VIP access, bottle tables, and private areas
  • Assist in maintaining accurate guest lists, ticketing, reservations and table allocations
  • Deliver first impressions that reflect the energy and premium standards of KOKO Theatre
  • Work closely with security to ensure ID checks are carried out in line with licensing and age-verification regulations
  • Support reporting and escalates feedback to the Head Host when required
  • Maintain professional appearance, attentiveness and guest focus throughout service
  • Assist in smooth transitions between door, table service and internal teams during peak periods
  • Help manage wait times and guest expectations during busy club nights or live events
  • Support special events, live shows, and club nights, adapting to varying formats and guest profiles
  • Ensure electronic systems and guest management tools are ready and operational for service

About you

We’re seeking confident and guest-focused Door Hosts who thrive in a fast-paced live music and nightlife environment, with the following key attributes:

  • Previous experience in a similar host or front-of-house role, ideally within a high-volume live music, club or premium nightlife venue
  • Professional, polished appearance with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Calm, confident, and authoritative presence under pressure
  • Team player with a flexible attitude, willing to work late nights, weekends, and event dates
  • Guest-first mindset, with attention to detail and commitment to delivering a premium experience
