Working week
This is a permanent, full time role operating across 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Location
Hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week in the office, with flexibility on the remainder - based at KOKO Headquarters, Camden, London.
Job Summary
Our Finance team plays a vital role in supporting the continued growth and success of KOKO.
We are a collaborative, hands-on team that works closely across the business to ensure strong financial control, insightful reporting and effective commercial decision-making.
We are looking for an ambitious Finance Manager to join our Finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance within a CFO-led department.
This is a broad and hands-on role with responsibility for the monthly management accounts, forecasting, F&B accounting, event settlements, month-end process and balance sheet.
You'll work closely with teams across KOKO, including Events, Programming, Hospitality and KOKO Studios, supporting accurate reporting and providing financial insight across the business.
Alongside your core responsibilities, you'll gain wider commercial exposure, get involved in exciting projects and benefit from opportunities for mentorship, development and career growth.

- Role & Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Month-End
- Take ownership of the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Lead the month-end process, ensuring journals, reconciliations and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments and other period-end adjustments.
- Manage month-end deadlines and work closely with the Finance team to ensure timely delivery of reporting.
- Produce meaningful variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods, with clear commentary and insight.
- Prepare and maintain robust monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the development of KPIs, management reports and dashboards for stakeholders across the business.
- Events, F&B & Commercial Finance
- Work closely with the Events, Programming, Hospitality and KOKO Studios teams across sites.
- Support pre- and post-event financial reconciliation and ensure revenues and costs are accurately recorded.
- Take ownership of event settlements, working closely with the Programming team and maintaining strong relationships with promoters and external partners.
- Recognise and report revenue daily across live events and hospitality activity.
- Support the Finance team with sales invoicing, weekly revenue journals, debtor reporting and collections.
- Provide financial insight and support to operational teams, helping them understand performance and key commercial drivers.
- Financial Control, Compliance & Systems
- Take ownership of fixed asset accounting and ensure accurate financial records and coding.
- Reconcile and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Prepare and submit PPL/PRS reports and reconcile the royalty account on a monthly basis.
- Prepare the quarterly FEU return and associated tax documentation, acting as the Finance team's subject matter expert in this area.
- Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve Finance processes and reporting.
- Support the development and ongoing improvement of Finance systems and processes.
- Wider Finance & Business Support
- Support forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- Line manage and mentor the Finance Assistant, providing day-to-day support, guidance and development.
- Encourage a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting the continued development of the wider Finance team.
- Take ownership of ad-hoc analysis, projects and responsibilities as KOKO continues to grow and evolve.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative and high-performing Finance team.
About you
- Qualified or part-qualified in ACCA, CIMA or ACA, or qualified to AAT Level 4, with ideally 3+ years of relevant finance experience.
- Strong management accounting experience, including monthly management accounts, month-end processes, journals, reconciliations, variance analysis and balance sheet management.
- Experience within hospitality, live entertainment, events, music, leisure or another fast-paced, commercially driven or creative industry would be highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills, with confidence using formulas, analysing data and producing clear, meaningful reporting.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver accurate work to tight deadlines.
- A proactive, commercially curious self-starter who is comfortable taking ownership, using their initiative and appropriately challenging information when needed.
- A confident communicator and collaborative team player, able to build strong relationships across the business while also working independently.
- Passionate about live music, entertainment and hospitality, with a flexible, positive and professional approach and a genuine desire to learn and develop.
