We are seeking a creative, entry-level Visualization Specialist with a strong foundation in architectural visualization to join our team in KPF's London office. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging talent to grow and develop their skills while contributing to the visual representation of our world-class architectural projects.

The ideal candidate will bring existing strength in visualization production and demonstrate personal aptitude for learning and professional growth. You should be a technology enthusiast eager to expand your expertise, a collaborative team player, and someone motivated to develop their craft while contributing to new standards for image and video output across the firm.

This full-time role offers mentorship, exposure to diverse projects, and the opportunity to refine your skills alongside experienced professionals in a supportive, dynamic environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • High-Quality Production: Lead the hands-on production of photorealistic renderings, animations, Extended Reality experiences for all phases of domestic and international projects, from competition to client presentations.
  • Workflow Optimization & Implementation: Drive the adoption and integration of cutting-edge visualization technologies, including advanced real-time rendering engines (e.g., D5 Render, Unreal Engine) and specialized AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Magnific, Runway) into KPF's standard workflows.
  • Quality Control & Standard Setting: Establish and enforce high-quality standards for visual outputs across multiple project teams, ensuring consistency in lighting, materiality, composition, and aesthetic narrative.
  • Technical Support & Mentorship: Act as a resource and technical expert for design teams, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and occasionally hands-on support to expedite their internal visualization tasks and ensure best practices.
  • Asset Management: Develop, generate, edit and maintain a high-quality library of 3D assets, materials, and internal visualization templates to increase efficiency across the firm.
  • Visual Storytelling: Collaborate closely with design teams on competition projects to translate complex architectural concepts into compelling visual narratives that resonate with clients.
  • Research: Be proactive in researching and testing new software, AI models, and workflows.
Qualifications:
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrated ability in architectural visualization. We prioritise a strong portfolio over years of professional employment; student work and personal projects are accepted and encouraged.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in high-fidelity rendering software, including strong hands-on experience with D5 Render and/or Enscape, Unreal Engine and a portfolio demonstrating mastery of lighting, texturing, composition, and post-production.
  • Modelling: Strong working knowledge of architectural modeling software, specifically Rhino8 (SubD) and Revit. Proficiency in Grasshopper is a plus.
  • AI: Practical experience with prompting for generative AI workflows (e.g., Nano Banana Pro, Magnific, Runway) for ideation, enhancement, and production optimization.
  • Aesthetic Judgment: An exceptional eye for architectural design, detail, and visual aesthetics, capable of quickly understanding and executing the design intent of diverse projects.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple visualization pipelines simultaneously, prioritise deadlines, and communicate progress effectively to internal stakeholders.
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with advanced rendering software like Unreal Engine, V-ray/Corona.
  • Proficiency in video editing and motion graphics (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects).
  • Experience in scripting (C++, Python, Visual Scripting) or developing custom tools to automate visualization tasks.
20% Project Work:
  • Direct Project Support: Working closely with architects and designers to understand project goals and help teams to develop high-quality architectural visualizations and renderings that effectively communicate design concepts and ideas.
  • Device Management: Manage our suite of XR hardware, assist design teams with hardware set-up and immersive presentations creation and delivery.
  • Content Management: Create/manage bespoke 3D assets such as realistic materials, props, templates.
25% Design Technology Collaboration:
  • Software Experience: Strengthen and develop skills with Rhino, Revit and other relevant software to better understand constraints and opportunities of our design tools and better assess how to improve our visualizations quality.
  • Collaboration: Closely work with IT and other Design Technology team members on multidisciplinary projects and presentations.
  • Workflow Development: Help test and implement new visualization-related software/hardware.
35% Education, Training and Engagement:
  • Education and Training: Educate staff in visualization strategies, techniques, and software through upskilling sessions and office-wide community events.
  • Grow a visualization design community: Contribute to an office-wide global community of specialists and architects creating visuals to share and review work, discuss new visualizations technologies and help promote best practices and global standards.
20% Applied Technology Research:
  • Grow Knowledge: Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in architectural visualization to continuously improve your skills and output quality. Attend international conferences and networking events related to visualization.

This position requires you to be in person in our London office 5 days per week, 9am – 6pm.
