Key Responsibilities
- Proposal Development: Prepare and deliver technically accurate and commercially competitive proposals for POD solutions.
- Review customer enquiries, specifications, tender documentation, and technical requirements.
- Develop proposal solutions that meet customer expectations while aligning with company capabilities and commercial objectives.
- Produce clear and professional technical submissions, scopes of supply, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all proposals are submitted within agreed timescales and customer deadlines.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and expertise throughout the sales and bid process.
- Liaise with engineering, operations, procurement, and commercial teams to develop complete and compliant solutions.
- Support customer discussions and technical clarification meetings where required.
- Ensure all proposed solutions comply with relevant standards, regulations, and company requirements.
- Commercial Support: Assist in the development of pricing strategies and commercial evaluations.
- Support risk assessment activities associated with proposals and contracts.
- Ensure proposals achieve the appropriate balance between competitiveness, risk management and profitability.
- Work closely with the sales team to support opportunity qualification and bid/no-bid decisions.
- Bid Management: Coordinate multiple proposal activities simultaneously, managing priorities to meet customer and business requirements.
- Monitor proposal progress and ensure key stakeholders deliver required inputs within agreed timescales.
- Maintain proposal records, documentation and associated reporting within company systems.
- Participate in proposal reviews and approval processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Capture and communicate lessons learned from successful and unsuccessful bids.
- Analyse market trends, customer feedback and competitor activity to support future proposal development.

- Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a Proposal Engineer, Applications Engineer, Bid Engineer, Sales Engineer or similar technical-commercial role.
- Strong understanding of engineered solutions within industrial, power generation, energy, construction or related sectors.
- Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals for complex customer requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications drawings and tender documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costing principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel Word and Power Point.
