Position Summary
If you go that extra mile and are comfortable with challenging concepts and ideas to develop the optimum products on time, within budget, and to specifications, then this may be the ideal role for you. We are seeking more than just excellent project managers to join Mira's Digital & Electrical showering categories within our industry-leading New Product Development team.
The right candidate will lead a cross-functional team to deliver exciting new products to the UK showers market, within our Programme Team. They will be accountable for and own the delivery of new products from kick-off to project closure, which could involve multiple smaller projects or complex large projects, delivering to time, cost, and quality measures.
The successful individual will be a self-starter who proactively drives to beat stretch targets and can bring their team along with them. They will have a proven track record of project delivery in an NPD environment and understand how their role supports the wider business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of NPD projects from concept through to production.
- Translate project requirements into tangible deliverables with the support of the programme team.
- Own, lead, and deliver entire projects in terms of quality, time, and cost.
- Manage cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and commitment to delivering on agreed timelines and objectives.
- Ensure the team is engaged, motivated, and meeting milestones and deliverables.
- Facilitate regular meetings, workshops, and reviews to ensure alignment and manage conflicts.
- Identify, track, own, and mitigate issues and risks, escalating when necessary.
- Initiate changes and drive local improvements and best practices.
- Use fact-based decision making, achieve timely consensus, and avoid over-analysis.
- Manage project revenue and capital budgets.
- Prepare documentation for phase gate reviews.
Skills and Requirements
- Apprenticeship or higher education such as HND, degree, or master's.
- Minimum of 2 years managing NPD projects within a technical/engineering discipline.
- Good understanding of cost build-up and managing project budgets.
- Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office suite.
Nice to Have
- Experience in product development disciplines (engineering, product design, manufacturing).
- Prince 2 or equivalent certification.
- Understanding of master data and product BOM structure.
