Job summary
You will learn and obtain data experience in different departments, such as:
- Marketing
- Supply Chain
- Customer Service
Your apprenticeship will last for 24 months, during which time you will rotate around different departments, working on projects that support your development and align to your apprenticeship with our training provider, The Development Manager. You will be supported by a dedicated apprentice manager who will oversee your development, apprenticeship progress, and ensure you are working on value-add business projects. You will join an ever-growing cohort of apprentices across the business and engineering functions all focused on working towards similar goals. We encourage and empower our apprentices to strive for achievement with many of them having won awards at nationally recognised events for Sustainability, Contact Centre contributions, and recognition awards through their training providers.
Specific responsibilities
In order to develop relevant and transferable skills, you will be rolled onto a Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship, which will support you as you grow in your role. This part-time study will provide you with the opportunity to apply your learning to real-life business projects. The placements you complete will give you a broad view of the business and help identify your strengths, with the support of a designated placement mentor. Placements may include:
- Supply Chain: This is a large and important function within the business, covering the inbound supply of components all the way through to delivery of finished products to our customers. Supply Chain uses vast amounts of data to ensure that we get our products where they need to be, at the right time, in the most efficient way.
- Marketing: In the marketing rotation you will be part of a high-performing team that manages all aspects of the marketing mix for a market-leading brand. In a highly varied placement, you could support one of the many digital projects across the business, learning how we use data to understand customer behaviours, use insights from data to create new products and expand into new markets, and how we maximise the sales and profitability of our products.
- Customer Service: In Mira Service, you will have insight into the true voice of our end customers. In this rotation, you will gain an understanding of all aspects of the Service function and how data plays a critical part in us delighting our customers.
Throughout each of the placements you will have the opportunity to be involved in:
- The gathering and cleaning processes for data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality
- The interpretation of results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis
- Identification of data quality issues and the proposal of data cleansing and enhancement solutions to ensure data is fit for purpose
- Interpretation of results using different analytical and statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights
- Identification of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and development of metrics to track and measure business performance
- Development and maintenance of visualisations and dashboard reports to tell a focused story
- Following organisational data governance, including policies on data access, sharing, dissemination and protection
- Application of fundamental principles of data ethics and privacy under supervision

Skills/Requirements
Person specification
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (A*- C or 9 - 4) to include English, Maths
- Successful completion of Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-level, BTEC etc.) with grades (or predicted grades) equating to 96 UCAS points or above (typically 3Cs at A-level)
- Suited to students with an interest in any of the following: business, economics, maths, understanding the connected world (technology), sustainability, supporting people
- Strong desire to learn and develop, using open thinking and able to easily adapt to new ways of working
- Able to demonstrate involvement in extra-curricular activities. This may include:
- Hobbies or voluntary work
- Previous work experience
- Involvement in personal or school-based business initiatives (e.g. STEAM, Young Enterprise etc.)
