We are currently retained on behalf of a well-established, award-winning residential developer to appoint an experienced Construction Director to join their regional leadership team.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an individual with a strong track record of delivering high-volume residential developments, leading construction teams, and driving operational performance across multiple sites.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Regional Managing Director, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of the construction function, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with the regional leadership team, you will play a key role in supporting business growth, improving operational performance and developing high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the regional construction function across multiple live developments.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide strategic input into land acquisitions, planning and pre-construction activities.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Technical, Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor build programmes, resource allocation and operational performance across the region.
  • Drive continuous improvement across health & safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, mentor and lead construction teams, ensuring succession planning and high performance.
  • Support recruitment, performance management and employee development across the construction function.
  • Produce regular operational reports and updates for the regional leadership team.

Requirements

  • Significant experience operating as a Construction Director, Operations Director, Head of Construction, or in a comparable senior leadership position.
  • Proven success delivering large-scale residential developments, including traditional housing and multi-storey apartment schemes.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence business performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methodologies, programme management and health & safety legislation.
  • Experience working within a volume housebuilder or major residential developer is highly desirable.
  • Degree qualified in Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline is advantageous.
