Scope of the role
- The Junior Mechanical Design Engineer supports device development from concept to manufacture, across client programmes and internal IP.
- Build SolidWorks 3D CAD and production drawings.
- Design plastic parts for injection moulding and automated assembly.
- Prototype, test and iterate mechanisms and assemblies.
- Contribute to DFM reviews to reduce cost and risk.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across sites.
Key skills and experience required
- Proven project work as a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Design Engineer.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
- SolidWorks proficiency, good drawings practice and tolerance awareness.
- Knowledge of DFM, injection moulding, exposure to FEA and hand calculations.
Salary and benefits
£35,000–£40,000 basic salary. Paid overtime and flexitime around core hours 10:00–16:00. 22 days' holiday plus.
