Scope of the Role
This Product Design Engineer role is about taking ownership of substantial workstreams from concept through to production. You will work closely with senior design leaders, helping deliver technically demanding products while bringing commercial judgement and confidence into client conversations.
- Lead mechanical and product design across complex assemblies, mechanisms and detailed engineering
- Own SolidWorks CAD, drawings, tolerances and design-for-manufacture decisions
- Run FEA, assess risk early and turn analysis into practical design choices
- Support client meetings, manage shifting scope and explain decisions clearly
- Help shape delivery standards as the Product Design Engineer team grows
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Proven Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or Senior Product Design Engineer experience
- Strong SolidWorks capability across surfacing, assemblies and toleranced production drawings
- Good FEA knowledge and confidence using analysis to drive design decisions
- Strong DFM knowledge including injection moulding, machining, castings and sheet metal
- Comfortable with stakeholders, project ownership and direct client-facing communication
