Build electronics that genuinely improve people’s lives in Leeds. This role sits within a small, senior engineering team developing upper-limb robotic prosthetics used globally. You’ll own electronics design end-to-end, influence how products reach manufacture, and work hands-on with complex electro-mechanical systems.

Scope of the Role

  • Own electronics design within highly integrated electromechanical products, taking concepts through to technical file transfer.
  • Lead schematic design, PCB layout oversight, debugging and hands-on board bring-up.
  • Own electronics design data, revision control and change processes.
  • Collaborate on electromechanical design with mechanical and software engineers.
  • Drive electronics design for manufacture, assembly, test and production transfer.
  • Support risk management activities within regulated electro-mechanical systems.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Mechatronics Engineer delivering products into manufacture.
  • Professional schematic capture and PCB design for shipped electro-mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on debugging, fault-finding and modification of electronic assemblies.
  • Experience working in regulated environments with documentation and change control.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Mechatronics Engineer, mechanical and software peers.

Salary and Benefits

  • £60,000 to £65,000 basic salary.
  • Hybrid working with a minimum of two days per week on-site in Leeds.
  • Increased on-site time during build, test and verification phases.
  • Pension contribution and standard benefits package.
  • Opportunity to reduce reliance on external consultancies and build in-house capability.

You’ll be joining a close-knit engineering group that values clear thinking, practical decision-making and shared ownership. The culture suits engineers who enjoy seeing their designs reach production, explaining trade-offs clearly, and working across electromechanical design, robotics and real-world manufacturing constraints. As a Mechatronics Engineer, you’ll work on meaningful products, not endless prototypes, alongside people who care about doing things properly.
