As Electrical Engineering Manager at Vax, you set the electrical direction for the next generation of products from Droitwich, Worcestershire, with full autonomy to build your own team from scratch.
Scope of the Role As Electrical Engineering Manager, you lead Vax's advanced development electrical work from a standing start, building the technical direction and the team together.
Set the electrical architecture and technology roadmap for the next generation of Vax products.
Drive sensor, motor control and power electronics development as the technical core of the role.
Build and test proof of concepts and demonstrators yourself, hands on at the bench.
Lead supplier technical relationships, including site visits and occasional overseas travel.
Recruit, build and mentor a new in house Advanced Electrical Engineering team from scratch.
Key Skills and Experience Required A degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent, BEng or above.
Extensive experience in electronics and embedded systems, with depth in at least two of sensors, motor control and power electronics.
A proven track record of hands on prototyping, building and testing proof of concepts rather than only reviewing others' work.
Experience leading a technical team, or a senior Electronics Engineering Manager ready to step up.
Practical, hands on supplier engagement, running the technical relationship rather than just sending a spec.
