Product Design Engineer in City of London

Bring your mechanical design expertise to a fast-moving consumer product team in London. This Contract Product Design Engineer role offers the chance to take ownership of mechanism and packaging challenges, working hands-on with CAD and prototypes. Its a one-month contract (likely to extend), outside IR35, paying £350£500 / day, hybrid with 23 days onsite.

Scope of the Role

As a Contract Design Engineer, youll focus on packaging complex assemblies into functional, manufacturable solutions that prove feasibility.

• Repackage existing CAD into new assemblies and layouts
• Develop mechanisms for actuation, locking and multi-mode interaction
• Build prototypes and rigs to demonstrate ergonomics and usability
• Work with engineers to hand over concepts into downstream development

Key Skills and Experience Required

To succeed as a Contract Design Engineer, youll need proven experience in consumer product mechanical design.
