Ways of Working

We offer flexible working from 6am to 9 pm on weekdays and operate a remote-first working model with a serviced office in Manchester close to St. Peter’s Square, so you can work when and where you are most effective. There’s no requirement to work a set number of days in the office, and you can condense your hours and work fewer days each week. We only ask that you can easily commute to Manchester if you need to attend in-person meetings.

Role Overview

As a full-stack developer, you’ll be part of a team responsible for developing, testing, releasing, and supporting both new and existing components, features, and functionality across our customer base, using modern technologies and platforms, including:

This role is perfect for an aspiring self-starter who is keen to learn and is passionate about technology. You will work both independently and as part of our dynamic team, benefiting from autonomy over your workload and personal development. You’ll work closely with our Project Management Team, helping with requirements gathering, working with our customers to design and document bespoke software solutions, and taking part in sprint ceremonies within an Agile environment.

About You

As a Degree Apprentice Software Engineer, you will demonstrate the qualities and skills listed below:

  • The ability to write code independently, communicate effectively, and show initiative
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and services (such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud)
  • An understanding of version control systems and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • An awareness of artificial intelligence concepts and tools, with an interest in using AI responsibly to support learning, problem-solving, and software development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, promoting positive change and continuous improvement at Koderly

Degree Apprenticeship Entry Requirements

Applicants should have a minimum of 104 UCAS points at A-level (grades BCC) or an equivalent (e.g., BTEC DMM). Apprentices aged 16 to 18 who do not hold Level 2 or GCSE Maths and English Qualifications will be required to complete Functional Skills alongside the apprenticeship. Apprentices aged 19 and over who do not hold or are unable to evidence achievement of Level 2 or GCSE Maths and English Qualifications will be required to undertake an initial assessment to assess their current working level.
