What You Will Do
- Design, back test, and implement arbitrage strategies focused on SHFE and related instruments.
- Analyze market microstructure to identify cross-exchange and cross-contract arbitrage opportunities, including calendar spreads, inter-month trades, and LME-SHFE basis strategies.
- Monitor daily profit and loss (P&L), manage risk exposures, and ensure adherence to margin and position limits.
- Maintain accurate trade capture, position reporting, and post-trade reconciliation; contribute to automation and process improvements.
- Prepare daily market insights, trade rationales, and periodic performance reports for senior stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and maintain robust internal controls.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 4–8+ years of experience trading metals (copper preferred), with a demonstrable track record in arbitrage trading and consistent P&L generation.
- Strong understanding of SHFE contract specifications, delivery mechanisms, warehousing systems, margining, and Chinese market microstructure.
- Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including experience developing statistical arbitrage models and conducting rigorous strategy validation.
- Familiarity with electronic trading systems, order management systems, and real-time market data feeds.
- Proven risk management expertise, including experience with VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English required, Mandarin strongly preferred.
