You will play a key part in protecting both the firm and wider markets through proactive surveillance, direct engagement with front-office teams, and involvement in emerging regulatory developments. What You Will Do
- Perform trade surveillance across multiple global commodities markets, monitoring for market abuse indicators such as spoofing/layering, wash trades, front-running, and insider trading.
- Conduct communications monitoring to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory expectations.
- Own the full lifecycle of surveillance alerts: triage, investigation, escalation, and documentation.
Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Assist in business impact assessments, regulatory change management, and implementation projects.
- Monitor evolving legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the KAES trading business.
- Support the firm’s FCA reporting obligations.
- Oversee AML/KYC onboarding checks to ensure robust compliance controls.
- Assist with responding to enquiries from Exchanges, regulators, and other external stakeholders.
Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as an advisory partner to front-office trading desks.
- Engage with traders, business support teams, counterparties, regulatory authorities, trade associations, and working groups.
- Continuously improve and adapt surveillance frameworks as regulatory risks evolve.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Demonstrated interest in commodities-related business.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Confident engaging with front-office stakeholders in time-sensitive environments.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience performing trade and communications surveillance.
- Experience handling regulatory enquiries.
- Solid understanding of futures markets.
- Ability to communicate, interact with, and challenge staff at all levels, strong teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of regulations such as MAR, REMIT, MiFID II, and EMIR.
- Familiarity with LME and CME market structures.
- Understanding of the FCA Handbook.
