Koch Metals Trading Limited (Category 2 LME Member) is seeking a resourceful, builder-minded Business Systems Analyst to support our global Metals trading business from our London office. You’ll be a hands-on partner to traders, risk, operations, and finance — turning ambiguous business problems into working solutions on our Trinity (by Quoreka) trading platform and the data ecosystem around it.

We’re looking for someone with a builder’s mentality: you prototype quickly, think carefully about design, execution, testing, and support, and you’re energized by using new and emerging technology to transform the way we work. You bring real technical capability — enough SQL to explore data and answer your own questions — along with the initiative, curiosity, and communication skills to move fast across a busy trading floor and challenge the status quo where a better way exists. Experience working in a trading environment matters to us. Metals-specific knowledge is a plus, not a prerequisite — if you’re a quick, continuous learner, we’ll help you build the domain depth.

This role is based in our London, UK office.

What You Will Do

  • Partner across front, middle, and back office — traders, risk, operations, finance, and IT — to understand problems and deliver high-value solutions across the metals trade lifecycle.
  • Prototype, build, and iterate — turn ideas into working proofs of concept, and be thoughtful about design, execution, testing, and ongoing support.
  • Explore trade, position, P&L, and risk data with SQL to investigate questions, reconcile across systems, and produce analysis the business can act on.
  • Learn the end-to-end trade lifecycle on Trinity — trade capture, pricing, exposure, mark-to-market, P&L, confirmations, settlements, invoicing, warrant management, and regulatory reporting — and help validate flows as they change.
  • Lead requirements conversations with traders and operations; capture current (“as-is”) and future (“to-be”) processes and translate them into clear specifications, user stories, and process maps.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline — including with AI and modern tooling — and continuously look for better ways to do things.
  • Support UAT planning, execution, defect management, and stakeholder sign-off for Trinity changes and adjacent system work.
  • Juggle competing priorities across trader-driven enhancements, risk and regulatory commitments, and platform health.
  • Build strong relationships across London, Wichita, and other Koch metals locations; communicate status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to business and IT partners.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience working in a trading, commodities, or financial-markets environment, with a working understanding of how a front-to-back trade lifecycle fits together (or the ability to pick it up quickly).
  • A builder’s mentality — demonstrated ability to prototype solutions and be thoughtful about design, execution, testing, and support.
  • Technical capability, including hands-on SQL — able to query data to answer your own questions. Deep Oracle or query-optimization expertise is not required, but you should be comfortable getting hands-on with data.
  • High initiative and resourcefulness — you find a way, drive things forward, and don’t wait to be told.
  • A genuine, continuous learner who is curious about and comfortable adopting new technology to transform how work gets done.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving instincts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — articulate, and able to work effectively with different groups across the organization and influence at all levels.
  • Comfort juggling multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience supporting a metals or commodities trading business, and familiarity with the physical and/or financial trade lifecycle (trade capture, pricing, exposure, P&L, confirmations, settlements, invoicing, and warrant management).
  • Hands-on experience with a CTRM/ETRM platform across front, middle, and back office; experience with Trinity by Quoreka a plus.
  • Familiarity with metals markets — precious (gold, silver, platinum) and base (copper, aluminum, zinc, nickel, lead, tin).
  • Working knowledge of LME warranting, position limits, and post-trade transparency; awareness of UK EMIR REFIT and MiFID II transaction and commodity-position reporting.
  • Knowledge of risk concepts relevant to trading: MTM, P&L attribution, exposure, margin, and credit.
  • Experience implementing AI or automation-driven solutions to drive efficiencies in trading or back-office workflows.
  • Experience with system integrations to ERP, data warehouses, and market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv), and exchange / clearing interfaces.
  • Experience with Microsoft toolsets and AWS cloud services.
  • Degree in a quantitative, technical, or business field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science); equivalent industry experience will be considered.
