We are looking for a Line Leader to join our onsite Production Team at IPL Sittingbourne, a Fresh Produce packing facility. Passionate about production and eager to contribute to a dynamic team? This role is perfect for you.

Position Details

  • Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 7 am – 7 pm.
  • Location: IPL Sittingbourne – site based role.
  • Contract type: fixed‑term (maternity cover).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and organise an individual production line to ensure daily production targets and customer orders are fully satisfied to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to company policy and all laws and regulations pertaining to Food Hygiene and Health & Safety.
  • Ensure all finished product meets customer specifications and is positively released as required.
  • Accountable for product quality, ensuring quality is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Ensure all daily checks and documentation are completed accurately and timely (e.g. line start‑up checks, handover, H&S and Fire Register).
  • Promote a Health & Safety, quality‑focused culture and maintain workplace safety and a “clean as you go” policy.
  • Provide necessary communication and detailed handovers to all concerned.
  • Optimise use of company resources and comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Deputise for the Shift Operation Leader when needed.
  • Follow the 5S process and drive continuous improvement actions.
  • Monitor and record weights (finished product, class 2 & waste) ensuring conformity to required procedures.
  • Liaise with the packaging team to ensure labels and packaging are ready on the line before the job is ready, avoiding downtime.
  • Verify that all product produced matches the matrix, ensuring accurate packaging, label, and product information.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a fast‑moving produce production environment.
  • Experience leading a small team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong practical skills and the ability to work quickly and methodically.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety.
  • Willingness to work flexibly.
