An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Parent Advocate to join our friendly team
There are various hours available up to full time.
Full time salary is Β£24,479 per annum
Do you have personal lived experience of being on a Child Protection Plan previously? Could you use your personal experience to support families going through this process? If you answered yes, we would love to hear from you, you could be our next Parent Advocate.
We're looking for someone who can:
- To support families to understand what to expect when their child has been put on a Child Protection Plan
- To visit families in their own homes, in the community or virtually, depending on their need, to support with preparation for meetings
- To support families to attend Child Protection Conferences and Core Group meetings
- To build good working relationships with families and professionals
- Complete relevant paperwork as required and ensure adequate records are kept of the support offered to each family
- Attend training identified as relevant to the role by the line manager
- Undertaking designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote children's welfare
The Parent Advocate will have:
- Lived experience of having a child in your care that was on a child protection plan, and that the children came off the plan a minimum of 12 months ago Or
- Be someone who has supported a family member who had a child on a child protection plan, where the children came off the plan a minimum of 12 months ago.
- No social care involvement for past 12 months
