KOA is a Food-Innovation-Startup that upcycles the cocoa fruit and develops natural ingredients and beverages while increasing farmer income and reducing food waste. Since 2017 we have built a fairer value chain and today work with over 5,000 farming families and create around 250 jobs in rural areas of Ghana. Since 2022 we are B Corp and pursue a clear goal: Positive change – fruit for fruit. Our Shots are 100% natural, vegan and functional – produced in NRW, only 30 minutes from our Cologne office.
Our mission is to bring the cocoa fruit to retailers and grow KOA’s retail success in the Rhine-Ruhr region.
