Salary: Up to £35,000

KO2 is recruiting for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established instrumentation manufacturer in Sowerby Bridge. Part of a larger international group, the company designs safety-critical products used across a range of industries worldwide. Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you'll support the development of new products from concept through to production, gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and modify 3D CAD designs for instruments and components
  • Produce engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
  • Assist with prototype builds, testing, and design validation
  • Support investigations into design improvements and manufacturing issues
  • Raise Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) and update technical documentation
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and purchasing teams
  • Contribute to cost, feasibility, and design reviews

About You

  • Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor desirable)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
