Contract Technical Project Manager - Hardware & Embedded Software - Belfast
Rate: Up to £65 per hour, outside IR35
Location: Belfast - Hybrid working
Contract Length: 6 months initially, with strong potential to extend

Technical Project Manager / Technical Program Manager required for a 6 month contract, working for a global electronics business operating in automotive electronic devices and electrification, based in Belfast, within easy reach of both Belfast City and Belfast International Airports.
This is a genuinely technical Project Manager role, overseeing a hardware and embedded software product through its full lifecycle - from concept and requirements, through validation and production readiness, to launch. You will be the key point of contact for the customer, aligning internal hardware and software engineering teams, tracking progress against the plan, and ensuring milestones are hit on a safety-critical, ASPICE-aligned programme.
The Role:
- Owning delivery of a hardware and embedded software product programme, end-to-end
- Running weekly customer-facing meetings, clarifying scope and timing
- Aligning software and hardware engineering teams internally
- Tracking progress, risks and issues against the project plan
- Supporting production readiness activities, including samples and line trials
About You:
- Proven track record as a Technical Project Manager or Technical Program Manager, managing hardware and embedded software product developments, from concept through to production
- Comfortable working to safety-critical / functional safety requirements
- Confident engaging directly with customers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Experience with ASPICE and/or automotive product development is a nice-to-have, not essential
- Experience with Jira and Confluence is useful
Working Pattern:
1-2 days per week onsite in Belfast, or week on / week off
