KO2 are working with a forward-thinking technology company in the Shipley area, seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary team developing the next generation of wireless communication products. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role — you will play a key role in the electronics design process from concept and prototyping through to production handover, ensuring every design meets exacting standards of performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with PCB design tools (Altium Designer or PADS ideally).
- Experience designing multi-layer PCBs.
- Strong experience with digital electronic circuits.
- Experience with a host of serial and comms protocols (RS232, RS485, Ethernet, SPI, UART etc).
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in electronics design.
- Proven track record delivering products within multi-disciplinary development environments.
- Eligible for, or already hold, SC-level security clearance (British citizenship required).
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hardware design, including embedded processor systems, PCBs and communication interfaces.
- Perform PCB schematic capture and layout, including component library creation and management.
- Ensure designs meet all EMC compliance and performance standards.
- Collaborate closely with RF, firmware, and mechanical teams through all stages of development and production.
