Our client is seeking a motivated and innovative Electrical / Electronics Engineer to join their growing R&D team in North Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in new product development, concept generation, and the continuous improvement of existing technologies within a dynamic engineering environment.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience in a similar Electrical/Electronics Engineering role, looking to further develop their technical expertise across varied and challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of new products and engineering innovations within the R&D department
  • Support both standalone projects and larger multidisciplinary engineering programmes
  • Produce detailed electrical design specifications and technical documentation
  • Provide electrical and electronic design input across multiple projects
  • Support and mentor junior engineering team members
  • Deliver technical support to production, logistics, and integration teams
  • Assist Sales and Marketing teams with technical content for quotations and proposals
  • Provide off-site engineering support for both new installations and existing systems
  • Support the creation of operating manuals and maintenance documentation
  • Assist customers with technical support and operator training
  • Ensure all work complies with company procedures and relevant national/international standards
  • Deliver projects within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Undertake additional engineering duties as required by the Engineering Manager
Technical Experience Required

Candidates should have experience in several of the following areas:

  • Electric motors
  • Power distribution and protection systems
  • Variable speed drives and soft starters
  • Electrical wiring distribution systems
  • Communication systems and industrial protocols
  • Industrial sensors and associated equipment
  • Fibre optic multiplexers and related systems
  • Analogue circuit design
  • Digital and analogue electronic circuit design
  • PCB design, prototyping, and manufacturing standards
Ideal Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Solid engineering fundamentals with strong technical problem-solving ability
  • Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight
  • Experience using Altium Designer
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn new technologies and engineering practices
