The Role
A specialist electronics engineering client is looking for an experienced Test Technician to join their team on an urgent contract basis. You will be at the heart of their motor testing operation - setting up and running dynamometer tests on electronic/electric drive systems and motors, working closely with engineers to ensure accurate, reliable results.
This is a hands-on role with real variety: from configuring test rigs and motors through to monitoring data acquisition systems, validating outputs and supporting troubleshooting on upgraded dyno platforms. What You’ll Be Doing
- Setting up and executing rotational dynamometer (dyno) tests on electric motors and drive systems
- Configuring motors, test rigs and associated equipment ahead of test runs
- Operating and monitoring data acquisition systems throughout testing
- Capturing, recording and validating test data to engineering standards
- Supporting fault-finding and debug activities on dyno systems
- Collaborating with engineers across all stages of test execution
What We’re Looking For
Previous dyno or test rig experience is strongly preferred, alongside an electrical or electronics bias. We’re open to backgrounds across a range of sectors. Any of the following would be relevant:
- Automotive test & development
- Marine propulsion or naval systems
- Rail engineering
- Industrial motors or drives
- Wind turbines or other rotating machinery
You should be practical, methodical and comfortable working in a fast-paced test environment with a degree of autonomy.
Up to £55 per hour, outside IR35, 3 month initial contract. Strong potential to extend or transition long-term. Overtime available. One-stage Teams interview.
