Requirements

  • Strong software testing experience on embedded software or a physical device, such as mobile devices, smart meters, or handheld/touchscreen products
  • Python test automation experience, manual testing experience, or ideally both
  • Background in a safety-critical or regulated sector such as medical, automotive, aerospace, defence, finance, or oil and gas
  • Understanding of working within a QMS with good record-keeping
  • Willingness to work onsite in Motherwell 3 days per week
  • Medical device testing experience is desirable
  • Some cybersecurity testing exposure is desirable
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as Jama, Codebeamer, TestLink, HP ALM, or DOORS is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Carry out hands-on software testing across both Python test automation and manual testing
  • Write automated tests in Python where possible
  • Perform manual testing when automation is not possible, including GUI testing directly on the device
  • Work within a regulated medical environment
  • Maintain good test records and follow QMS processes
  • Adapt the balance of automation and manual test work around our strengths
