Position: Electronics Technician

Location: Newcastle

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

An established electronics business based in Newcastle is seeking an Electronics Technician to join its highly skilled engineering team. The company delivers bespoke electronic solutions to global customers and offers a supportive, hands-on working environment where variety, learning, and technical challenge are part of everyday life.

The Role

As an Electronics Technician, you will play a key role in the testing, verification, and support of electronic products. You will work across system, module, and sub-assembly level, using a wide range of hardware and software tools to ensure product quality and performance.

The role includes stress, thermal, and performance testing, alongside supporting the verification of embedded firmware and bespoke test software. You will also provide technical support to customers, both remotely and on-site, helping to diagnose and resolve electronic and system-level issues.

In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, including engineering test records and reports, while supporting quality control activities and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Practical experience testing electronic systems, modules, or sub-assemblies
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies)
  • Understanding of electronic circuits and components
  • Experience supporting fault finding and troubleshooting at hardware level
  • Basic understanding of embedded firmware and test software verification
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and test reports
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to support customers both remotely and on-site when required

Qualifications

  • HNC or higher in Electronics or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Equivalent hands-on industry experience will also be considered
