The business develops bespoke electronic products and software solutions, and this role will play a key part in delivering the next generation of high-performance instrumentation.
The Role
This is a hands-on hardware design position suited to an engineer who enjoys owning projects from initial concept through to prototype build, validation, and final production. You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary engineering team—working closely with embedded software, mechanical, and production specialists—to create advanced electronic systems used in real-world industrial environments.
The role is fully on-site in Nottingham, giving you access to extensive laboratory facilities, test equipment, and a highly collaborative technical setup.
Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain complex electronic systems, including schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout (typically 2–8 layers, mixed-signal).
- Work across diverse technologies: MCU/MPU, RF, DC-DC and AC-DC power, analogue sensing, digital logic, FPGAs, and memory devices.
- Validate, test, and debug hardware using lab equipment; occasional travel to external test facilities may be required.
- Review designs against industry best practices and produce clear, accurate technical documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (2:1 or above) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years’ experience in an electronic hardware design role.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency with Altium Designer.
- Experience with other eCAD tools (Eagle, KiCAD, Fusion, PADS) is an advantage.
- Solid hands-on skills in hardware design, testing, and debugging using standard lab equipment.
- Good understanding of IoT-style embedded systems and mixed-signal design.
What’s on Offer
- Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 (DOE)
