An established electronics design and manufacturing business in Congleton is looking for an adaptable and hands-on Electronics Technician to join its growing team. With over 50 years of trading history, they are a small, highly experienced engineering business designing and manufacturing specialist electronic products primarily for the automotive sector, including buses, trucks, electric vehicle systems, telematics and vehicle communication technologies.
The Role
- You'll work closely with the engineering team supporting the development, testing and production of electronic products.
- Building and testing prototype electronic assemblies.
- PCB assembly, bring-up and fault finding.
- Component-level diagnostics and repair.
- Supporting schematic capture and PCB layout processes.
- Working with electronic design software such as KiCad, Altium or similar.
- Assisting with BOM creation and product documentation.
- Supporting low-volume manufacturing and product improvements.
- Helping ensure products are production-ready and reliable.
This is not a repetitive bench-only repair role.
About You
You could already be an experienced Electronics Technician, or a bright and capable junior engineer/technician looking to develop further. We're interested in people who:
- Have a solid understanding of electronics fundamentals.
- Can fault-find to component level.
- Are comfortable using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Have experience working with PCBs and electronic assemblies.
- Are practical, adaptable and keen to learn.
- Can communicate well and work effectively within a small team.
Experience with automotive electronics, CAN bus systems, telematics or embedded hardware would be advantageous, but not essential.
