An established electronics design and manufacturing business in Congleton is looking for an adaptable and hands-on Electronics Technician to join its growing team. With over 50 years of trading history, they are a small, highly experienced engineering business designing and manufacturing specialist electronic products primarily for the automotive sector, including buses, trucks, electric vehicle systems, telematics and vehicle communication technologies.

This is an opportunity to join a close-knit company where your work will genuinely make a difference. They are looking for someone practical, technically capable and eager to get involved across a wide variety of electronics projects.

The Role

  • Building and testing prototype electronic assemblies
  • PCB assembly, bring-up and fault finding
  • Component-level diagnostics and repair
  • Supporting schematic capture and PCB layout processes
  • Working with electronic design software such as KiCad, Altium or similar
  • Assisting with BOM creation and product documentation
  • Supporting low-volume manufacturing and product improvements
  • Helping ensure products are production-ready and reliable

This is not a repetitive bench-only repair role. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new things and getting involved wherever needed.

About You

You could already be an experienced Electronics Technician, or a bright and capable junior engineer/technician looking to develop further. We’re interested in people who:

  • Have a solid understanding of electronics fundamentals
  • Can fault-find to component level
  • Are comfortable using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
  • Have experience working with PCBs and electronic assemblies
  • Are practical, adaptable and keen to learn
  • Can communicate well and work effectively within a small team

Experience with automotive electronics, CAN bus systems, telematics or embedded hardware would be advantageous, but not essential.
