Our client requires a CODESYS Control System Engineer to join a machine communications upgrade project. This is a remote role with occasional visits to the Glasgow office. A one stage interview can be quickly arranged.
Rate: Up to £75 per hour (Outside IR35)
Contract length: 4 months initially
Start date: ASAP
You’ll be tasked with upgrading their existing Hermes system, from version 1.0 to version 1.6 / 1.7. As there is an existing system in place, you’ll be refining and upgrading functions, testing PLC code on live machines and ensuring seamless operation.
Skills Needed:
- CODESYS experience (essential)
- PLC programming and IEC 61131-3 Structured Text expertise
- Ideally some HMI (Android Java/XML) knowledge
- Hands-on testing / troubleshooting on real machines
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Hermes v1.6 or similar comms protocols
- Experience using Git
- Background in automation, mechatronics, or control systems
