Requirements
- Strong software testing experience on embedded software or a physical device, such as mobile devices, smart meters, or handheld/touchscreen products
- Python test automation experience, manual testing experience, or ideally both
- Background in a safety-critical or regulated sector such as medical, automotive, aerospace, defence, finance, or oil and gas
- Understanding of working within a QMS with good record-keeping
- Willingness to work onsite in Motherwell 3 days per week
- Medical device testing experience is desirable
- Some cybersecurity testing exposure is desirable
- Familiarity with test management tools such as Jama, Codebeamer, TestLink, HP ALM, or DOORS is desirable
Responsibilities
- Carry out hands‑on software testing across both Python test automation and manual testing
- Write automated tests in Python where possible
- Perform manual testing when automation is not possible, including GUI testing directly on the device
- Work within a regulated medical environment
- Maintain good test records and follow QMS processes
- Adapt the balance of automation and manual test work around our strengths
