Knutsford Academy is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on Assistant Caretaker to join our friendly site team. This role is essential in helping us maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the School Business Manager with the day-to-day upkeep of the school buildings and grounds
- Carry out basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks
- Assist with setting up rooms, moving furniture, and preparing spaces for school activities
- Ensure the site is secure, including opening and locking up the school
- Monitor cleaning standards and support cleaning duties when required
- Report health and safety concerns promptly and help maintain compliance
- Support with deliveries, waste management, and general site organisation
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Is practical, hardworking, and takes pride in maintaining high standards
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Has good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Is willing to learn and take on a variety of tasks
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and site security
- Ideally has experience in a similar role (though training can be provided)
Hours of Work
37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern:
- Early Shift 6.30am to 2.30pm (2pm Friday)
- Middle Shift 8am to 4pm (3.30pm Friday)
- Late Shift 11am to 7pm (6.30pm Friday)
- School holidays: 8am to 4pm
Closing Date - Friday 1st May 2026 at 9am
