We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher of Science to join our well-established team of experienced practitioners within a thriving Science Department. Our department is a collaborative, ambitious and highly supportive team, committed to delivering excellent outcomes for all students. We pride ourselves on a culture of shared expertise, where staff regularly work together to develop high-quality teaching resources and refine practice. The team is passionate about both subject knowledge and pedagogy, with a strong focus on continuous professional development, drawing on internal expertise and the latest developments in cognitive science to improve our collective practice.
The Science Department comprises of 10 dedicated teachers and 3 highly valued technicians. We have a strong track record of developing teachers from Initial Teacher Training (ITT), through the Early Career Teacher (ECT) years, and beyond. Students benefit from well-resourced laboratories and a broad range of enrichment opportunities, including STEM clubs and educational visits, which foster curiosity and a love of science. We teach AQA A Level Biology and Physics, and OCR A Level Chemistry. At GCSE, Triple Science is a popular and highly successful pathway, with a growing number of students continuing to study science at A Level.
