PERMANENT FULL-TIME: 36 hours per week with 9 hours remission (15 hours teaching)

The College is pleased to invite applications for a permanent, full-time Teacher Development Coach to join the English and Maths Department, reporting to the Head of Maths and English.

This role is ideal for an outstanding teacher in English who demonstrates high levels of professional effectiveness and has a strong commitment to continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of teaching, learning and assessment within English/Maths, contributing directly to improved outcomes and experiences for all students.

You will work closely with the English/Maths Head of School who leads on driving and sustaining high expectations in teaching, learning and assessment. This is achieved through a range of developmental and quality-focused activities, including:

  • learning walks
  • supportive classroom visits
  • coaching
  • delivery of CPD
  • quality assurance processes
  • curriculum area reviews

with a clear emphasis on impact. The postholder will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of pedagogical theory and best practice and demonstrate a strong understanding of how digital technologies can be effectively used to enhance the quality of education.

Appointment will be made based on the skills, experience and strengths of applicants that best align with current and emerging quality improvement priorities within the College.

The successful candidate must:

  • Have experience of teaching English/Maths and motivating FE students
  • Hold a relevant degree; a higher degree is desirable
  • Have a relevant teaching qualification or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have GCSE Maths and English (A*-C)
  • Be well organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
