Knowsley Council is recruiting for a Technical Support Apprentice in its Building Control and Planning Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person who is keen to contribute to the regeneration of Knowsley and is keen to grow and develop their career in the Built Environment whilst working in a supportive team.
Responsibilities:
- You will primarily work with the Building Control team and ensure that the applications submitted to them contain all of the necessary information.
- When suitably experienced you will also assist in the administration and processing of the Building Safety Levy.
- The role will also include working with the Planning team to undertake similar tasks.
- This will be an opportunity to begin a career in Building Control and Planning, learning to study plans and other technical documents and to develop your communication skills by speaking and writing to members of the public, developers, other professionals and elected members.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about growing their career in the public sector and has an interest in shaping their local area. You must be hard working, a good communicator and able to work in a busy team.
Flexible Working:
At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time. There is a requirement for you to attend your work base at least 2 days per week on Thursdays and Fridays.
