Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Part Time/Term Time

Hours: 36 hours per week. 46 weeks term time only.

Location: St Marie’s Catholic Primary School, Kirkby

Salary Range: Pay Band E / SCP 7-11 Term Time only – 46 week per year salary paid monthly

Are you passionate about building strong relationships between schools and families? Do you believe in the power of community to support children’s learning and wellbeing? We are looking for a Family Engagement Officer to join our dedicated team and help strengthen the partnership between home and school, and raise attendance.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with families to identify and address barriers to learning and attendance.
  • Provide support, advice, and signposting to relevant services.
  • Build trusting relationships with parents and carers to encourage active involvement in school life.
  • Organise workshops, events, and initiatives that promote family engagement.
  • Collaborate with school staff and external agencies to support pupil wellbeing.
  • Supervise staff plan and lead on activities for development of the Breakfast club as the first daily point of engagement, encouraging good attendance.
  • Have experience working with children, families, or in a community support role.
  • Be approachable, empathetic, and an excellent communicator.
  • Be able to lead a team in breakfast club and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understand safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Be committed to promoting equality, inclusion, and positive outcomes for all children.
