Knowsley Council's Exchequer Services plays a vital role in safeguarding the financial health of the authority while supporting our residents. We manage key income streams and ensure compliance with legislation, helping the Council deliver high-quality services to the community. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Revenues and Benefits Officer, with a knowledge of collecting Sundry Debtor income.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the Team in the absence of the Team Manager and provide advice and technical support to colleagues.
- Allocate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate members of the team and assist in monitoring team performance on a regular basis.
- Assist management in making decisions to ensure operational needs of the team are met, considering the impact and implications on other parts of the Service and wider organisation.
- Participate in projects designed to improve the quality of service provided, including testing of new/upgraded computer systems and take a proactive approach to identifying improvements in working practices.
- Assist the Team Manager in management checks and quality checks in accordance with agreed working practices, verification requirements and Council procedures.
About You
- Be able to demonstrate an up-to-date, in-depth knowledge and understanding of Local Authority Sundry Debtors procedures.
- Have the ability to self-motivate, plan activities and projects, and prioritise work to ensure that targets and deadlines are achieved.
