Every day, hundreds of children and young people rely on transport support to access education and opportunities. Behind every successful journey is a service that is efficient, responsive and focused on delivering the very best support.

We are looking for a Travel Contract Monitoring Officer to join our Travel and Travel Support Service and play a key role in ensuring transport arrangements for children and young people across Knowsley are safe, effective and deliver value for money. You'll be at the heart of monitoring service performance, managing data, supporting customers, and working with transport providers to help shape a high-quality service that families can rely on.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. One day you could be analysing transport data and identifying efficiencies using route mapping software, the next supporting families with travel queries, monitoring provider performance, or helping improve how services are delivered across the borough.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who is organised, analytical and customer-focused, with excellent communication skills and a talent for managing information accurately. You'll be confident working with data and IT systems, building positive relationships with colleagues and partners, and finding practical solutions to challenges.

Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to putting children, young people and families at the centre of everything we do

Why Knowsley?

At Knowsley, we're ambitious for our communities and our workforce. You'll join a supportive team that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement, where your ideas and contributions can genuinely influence service delivery.

If you are looking for a role where your organisational skills, customer focus and attention to detail can make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time. There is a requirement for you to attend your work base at least 2 days per week.

We welcome applications from residents and beyond, regardless of background, belief, or identity, recognising the value that diversity brings to our organisation. We particularly welcome applications from individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and candidates with disabilities as we acknowledge their underrepresentation in our workforce.
