Attendance and Retention Officer – St Helens

Type: Permanent/Term Time Only – Part‑time working 30 hours per week
Salary: £17,172 to £17,923 per annum
Location: St Helens, United Kingdom

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and efficient individual to contribute to student achievement, by effectively implementing and administering the attendance management strategy. Utilizing your strong communication and interpersonal skills with young people and their parents/carers, alongside your excellent ICT skills, you will make a real difference to the long‑term success of our students.

Responsibilities

This role is an integral part of both Student Support and Curriculum teams in proactively supporting the achievement of high levels of attendance from students and taking immediate action to deal with absence. The role involves daily monitoring of student attendance data and follow‑up with students/parents/carers to check the reasons for absence and to encourage improved attendance where needed.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Level 3 in relevant subject area (or equivalent)
  • Hold English and Maths GCSE (A*‑C/9‑4)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of organisational skills
