Position Overview
Permanent/Part-time – 29 hours per week. Term‑time only – working 37 weeks per year.
Salary: £17,248.80 – £17,880.00 per annum (pro‑rata from start date until end of the current academic year).
The College is currently seeking a permanent Learning Assistant to join our Learner Support team at St.
Helens College and Knowsley Community College.
This role is based at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus and requires the ability to support a range of educational needs both in and out of the classroom for our students.
- Main Responsibilities
- Implement specialist support for individuals as per their Support Plan.
- Enable students to overcome barriers to learning by employing appropriate teaching and learning strategies.
- Monitor the effectiveness of specialist support and provide feedback to the Learner Support Manager.
- Assist with the physical and emotional needs of students and manage changing behaviours with vocational tutors.
- Encourage independence whenever possible, for example by giving choices and prompting.
- Monitor progress in lessons and record Support Logs for individual students on Pro Monitor.
