The College is currently recruiting a temporary Learning Assistant to join our Learner Support team at Knowsley Community College. The role is based at the Knowsley Community College campus on Stockbridge Lane and involves supporting a range of educational needs both in and out of the classroom for our students. Enquiries from enthusiastic, conscientious, and personable individuals who are learner focused and have experience supporting learners with additional needs (SEN) are welcome.
Minimum qualifications: Math and English GCSE grade 5 or equivalent and at least a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Learning Assistant).

Main Responsibilities:
- Implement specialist support for individuals as per their Support Plan.
- Enable students to overcome barriers to learning by employing appropriate teaching and learning strategies.
- Monitor the effectiveness of specialist support and provide feedback to the Learner Support Manager.
- Assist with the physical and emotional needs of students and manage changing behaviours in collaboration with vocational tutors.
- Encourage independence whenever possible, e.g., by giving choices and prompting.
- Monitor progress in lessons and record Support Logs for individual students on ProMonitor.
